Is a Series About the Life of Nas in the Works?

Looks like BET is taking a stab at another music-infused documentary. Who wouldn’t want to continue the fun after the network’s ground-breaking ratings and (more importantly) Black Twitter acclaim from their “The New Edition Story” mini-series. The people are clearly wanting more!

“All I need is one life, one try, one breath I’m one man / What I stand for speaks for itself, they don’t understand / They don’t wanna see me on top, too egotistical / Talking all of that slick s— while my name is biblical…”

You guessed it from the lyrical clue  The one mic Queens MC and entrepreneur will have a turn at the spotlight. BET has ordered a pilot for “Street Dreams” a series created by writer and director Jonathan Levine, executive producer by Nas.

The show is described as memoir of music, family, and ups and downs of the rap game. Tracking the life of Queensbridge projects Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones from drug dealer, rapper, to rising mogul and more.

The name “Street Dreams” should sound familiar, as it was Nas’ breakout song.  Stay tuned for more details as we get them.

We can’t wait!
