VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Who Should Win: “Bad Girls” by M.I.A.; directed by Romain Gavras — or — “Somebody That I Used To Know” by Gotye feat. Kimbra; directed by Natasha Pincus

We know that M.I.A. doesn’t care about anything; she’s simply a bad ass. The video shows cars driving on only two wheels and includes one the greatest parties the Middle East has ever seen; “Bad Girls” needs to win.

Could you make fun of Gotye? Of course. He’s only wearing paint in his music video. Is the song brilliant? Yes. And with over 300 million views on YouTube, we hope the simple video has a chance.

Who Will Win: “We Found Love” by Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris; directed by Melina Matsoukas

Don’t be surprised if Katy Perry’s bubblegum fantasy, “Wide Awake,” steals the show; however, our money is on Rihanna. The pop princess struck gold with both the song and the music video.
