Spike Lee Seeks Indie Musicians

Calling all indie hip-hop and R&B artists!

It’s no secret that legendary filmmaker, Spike Lee has a propensity for virtually all things independent and brazen. Lee has launched himself into the stratosphere of classic cinema via the indie route with nearly all of his creative undertakings, starting with his 1983 directorial debut, Joe’s Bed-Stuy Barbershop: We Cut Heads.

With the financing of his current project, Da Sweet Blood of Jesus at the hands of willing Kickstarter crowd-funders, he is also leaving the film’s accompanying sounds in the hands of eager music-makers… (ahem) indie music-makers, that is.

So, if that happens to be you— get ready to deliver your MP3’s to the prolific director for consideration. Submissions will be accepted by 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks until Friday, Feburary 28.
