In this movie, Clarke Peters plays Mandela, and Chiwetel Ejiofor portrays Thabo Mbeki, one of the politicians that helped put a stop to the racist movement. MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM
The latest Mandela biopic begins with his childhood and traces his steps to his election as the first black president of South Africa in 1994. Starring Idris Elba and Naomie Harris, the film has only been released in a few cities so far. “You know, for me, that is a piece of history, told by film. …it’s a great, massive opportunity, massive responsibility to play Mr. Mandela,” Idris said in our exclusive chat with him earlier this year.
