Misty Knight Did Not Come To Play In The New ‘Defenders’ Trailer

Netflix is getting all of the Defenders together because the war for the soul of New York City is on.

Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist are about to ban together in an entirely new Marvel franchise for Netflix. Though they have already killed it in their own individual series, The Defenders is on a whole new level. On the show, our superheroes will be up against a ton of danger, and from the looks of that insane and beautifully shot hallway scene in the trailer, they can handle it.

Still, The Defenders won’t be all about the superheroes with the superpowers, Luke Cage’s Misty Knight (Simone Missick) will also star along with Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple who has shown up in all of Netflix’s Marvel series thus far.

The Defenders should be an interesting turn for Misty Knight in particular. In the comic books, Knight gets some superpowers of her own which includes superhuman strength. We don’t know if Netflix will go that direction with Missick’s character just yet, but it would be super dope to see a Black woman kicking ass pre-Black Panther. One thing we do know is that it doesn’t appear that Detective Knight and Jessica Jones will be BFFs. Seriously though, we need Misty Knight to have a dope character arc in The Defenders. With her twist out and iconic attitude she truly deserves all of the things. We’ve dropped the trailer below, check it out for yourself.

The Defenders is all set to begin streaming on August 18, 2017. Are you ready?
