FLOTUS is kicking off Women’s History Month with a bang!

First lady Michelle Obama is set to present Women of Soul, the latest event in the “In Performance at the White House” series. The concert will celebrate some of the most dynamic voices of today and yesterday, including performances from Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Jill Scott, Janelle Monáe and the winner of The Voice Season 5, Tessanne Chin.

Obama will kick off the day with a daytime workshop called “I’m Every Woman: The History of Women in Soul” for 124 middle school, high school and college students. The featured performers from the concert will be on hand to discuss their experiences within the music industry as well as answer any student’s questions.

The affair will also be streamed online this Thursday via the White House website at 7:30 PM EST. Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House will air on April 7 at 9pm EST on local PBS stations.
