Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ Contract Auctioned
When Michael Jackson released his ghoul-themed Thriller video in 1983 he changed the game of music videos, instantly.
Whether you watched with one eye-opened and the other in a peeking squint, Thriller was historically iconic.
Today, a piece of that history has joined the auction block by Nate D. Sanders Auctions.
On October 10, 1983, Michael Jackson signed the contract for the video in Los Angeles ahead of its production schedule. Those two sheets of paper, are now on sale with starting bids priced at $25,000.
With a total running time of 13-minutes, Thriller, struck such a significant chord that in 2009 the Library of Congress included it in the National Film Registry, where it remains the first and only music video inducted.
Bids for the signed contract end Feb. 27. 5pm PST.
