Michael Jace Sentenced In Wife’s Murder

After being convicted of second-degree murder last month, actor Michael Jace was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for killing his wife, April.

Jace admitted to the May 2014 murder, telling law enforcement officials he killed his wife after finding out she was planning on leaving him.

Though Jace’s attorney, Jamon Hick, argued his client should have been charged with involuntary manslaughter, calling the killing a crime of passion, Jace was convicted of second-degree murder after a weeklong trial.

Jace’s sentence includes 15 years to life for the murder charge, as well as a 25 years to life enhancement for the gun.

Jace is best know for his role  as a police officer on the hit FX series, The Shield. He also appeared in Planet of the Apes, Boogie Nights and Forrest Gump.
