Hollywood finally got the memo that Meagan Good is more than just a pretty face. After getting parts as the sexy ingénue more times that she can count, the 32-year-old decided it was time things started looking up. “I said, ‘Lord, I want to do something really different.'”
Apparently. He was listening. In January 2013, the veteran performer took on the lead role in NBC’s drama Deception, playing a hard-nosed cop who goes undercover to investigate her friend’s death. Although the show was cancelled, Good reveals she would do it again. “It was a blessing. I needed to grow and become a better actor. It was bittersweet, but I had such a wonderful experience.”
However, the small screen is so yesterday. After Deception wrapped, Good jumped right back into her first love – film. She appears alongside Will Ferrell in the new comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues as Linda Jackson, Ron Burgundy’s (Ferrell) tough-as-nails boss. Venturing into comedy was a dream come true for the former child actress. “Think Like a Man (2012) was the first time I got to be a little funny, and by the time I left Anchorman 2 I was feeling much more confident,” she shares. “So when I took Think Like a Man Too (out June 2014) I was revved up and ready to go”
