Coming Soon: Maya Angelou’s ‘The Complete Poetry’

For the first time, a full collection of Maya Angelou’s memorable poems will be available in a hard-copy edition in late March.

Maya Angelou’s legacy will forever be celebrated. To the world, she inspired people with her wise words; To her family, she was a matriarch who taught pivotal life lessons. Maya Angelou: The Complete Poetry will be a collection of poems that feature her well-known works and even new pieces that have not yet been released.

In 1993, Angelou recited her poem, “On The Pulse,” at President William Jefferson Clinton’s inauguration touching the hearts of audience members as well as viewers across the country. As a result, her publication sales sky-rocketed.

In the new hard-copy edition you will find famous poems such as “Still I Rise,” “Just Give Me A Cool Drink Of Water ‘fore I Diiie,” and also “On The Pulse.” In addition to these, it will  feature some of Angelou’s final long-form poems including “Amazing Peace,” “A Brave and Startling Truth” and “His Day is Done.”

A never before published piece titled “Amazement Awaits” will be added to the collection which was commissioned for the 2008 Olympic Games.

The official release date of the collection is set for March 31st, and can be pre-ordered on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and will also be available on e-book.
