‘Mary Mary’ Recap: Tragedy Strikes

Faith will be tested in the most emotionally charged and intense season of WE TV’s MARY MARY,.

When it rains, it pours. That saying couldn’t be more true in last night’s episode of Mary Mary. From the death of a parent, to the threat of losing a career, find out why the sisters continue to sing the sweetest tune in the midst of their storm.

Goodbye, Daddy

A few episodes ago, we discovered Erica and Tina’s father was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Maybe it was the speed of television production, but it seems like Eddie Atkins passed away quickly afterward. Although the entire family was grieving, it was magical to see them truly celebrate the life of their father. In previous seasons, Tina has been very vocal about her daddy issues, and I’m sure Mama Honey felt some type of way seeing he was remarried to another woman. But that didn’t stop them from choosing to remember the good. Yep, Eddie’s girls sang in the choir directed by Mama Honey to honor his legacy. Erica even dedicated a song to her father entitled “Eddie” on her solo album Help. May he rest in peace.

To Sing or Not to Sing?

Ever since Erica received the news that her vocal chords are bleeding, she’s been struggling with choosing when and when not to sing. I know Erica is pushing her solo career, while building Mary Mary, but she HAS to slow down. She’s crying and complaining about her voice, but continues to put it all on the line every single time. I know God can perform miracles, but He also gives us wisdom. Take a break.

The End of It All?

Welp, Warren is officially tired of Tina holding back Erica and Mary Mary. Last night he complained to Erica about how she holds up most of their decisions. He fears the same thing will happen to the Erica Campbell brand, if Erica remains in Mary Mary. With that being said, I’m sure we’ll find out the state of Mary Mary in upcoming episodes. In my Phaedra Parks voice: Fix it, Jesus.
