Listen: TDE’s Jay Rock Reps L.A. with ‘90059’

Kendrick Lamar is not the only lyricist reppin’ hard in the TDE camp. Jay Rock, who released his first and only studio album, Follow Me Home in 2011, is also a dope artist on the roster to look out for, in addition to Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, SZA and Isaiah Rashad.

If you aren’t familiar with the Watts-bred rapper, this will get you up to speed.

The husky-toned emcee could have been a great addition to Dr. Dre’s recent Compton album, but it’s all good.

Rock, who has various mixtapes under his belt and appeared on K. Dot’s good kid, m.A.A.d city album, is building anticipation with the recent announcement of his sophomore release, 90059.

Documenting the streets of L.A. and societal dealings, the single, also titled “90059”, grabs your attention with Jay Rock and Lance Skiiiwalker’s opening with a wild “aaaah” before the instrumental chimes in and Jay delivers his bars.
