Listen: J Dilla’s ‘Dillatronic’
J Dilla remains a hometown hero for the city of Detroit. But more than city love, the experimentally talented producer added a sting to music that connected across the world and continues to stimulate creative palettes, years after his untimely death.
Dilla, who succumbed to his battle with Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura at the age of 32, is forever respected and honored for his contributions to a genre of sound that not only keeps heads nodding, but offers its existence to further inspire music fiends and producers to come.
The album Donuts, is a lasting imprint in Dilla’s lengthy catalogue. Now, a 41-track project titled Dillatronic, is set to hit the marketplace on October 30.
Released by his mother, affectionately known as “Ma Dukes” and Vintage Vibez Music Group, Dillatronic offers over forty rare instrumentals created by the artist.
Dillatronic comes with a few perks as well. It will be available on CD, in addition to a 3xLP set, and a plethora of deluxe edition packages inclusive of posters, T-Shirts, cassettes and bags. Pre-order here!
