Listen: BJ The Chicago Kid ‘Nothin’ But Love’

2015 just might be BJ The Chicago Kid’s year.

The hip-hop soul vocalist is currently touring with Jill Scott and appears on Dr. Dre’s banging “Compton” compilation, which all serves as nice preparation for the release of his forthcoming album, In My Mind.

The Motown artist already has a sizable fan base due to the work he’s put in with various mixtapes and studio albums Pineapple Now & Laters and 2014’s M.A.F.E Project. The latter included a uniquely curated Aaliyah melody. However, the song that darted him to an even bigger mainstream audience is his collaboration with T.D.E. member, Schoolboy Q on “Studio.”

BJ grabbed an assist from Brooklyn emcee, Joey Bada$$ and comedian Hannibal Burress for “Nothin’ But Love,” The track is his first single from In My Mind, due out this fall with guest appearances from K.Dot and Chance The Rapper.

The single samples and flips Heavy D’s famous song of the same name with Joey delivering a smooth, collected flow and BJ coming through with his street-soul lyrical vibe.
