LeBron James To Produce NBC Comedy Series
LeBron James is keeping business moving during the NBA off-season.
The NBA star has already seen a great deal of success with basketball series Survivor’s Remorse on STARZ and even got an acting credit in the film Train Wreck, now the baller and his SpringHill Entertainment company has teamed with Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence’s Doozer and Warner Bros. TV to bring a single-camera comedy series to NBC.
The family comedy, titled Powerless, There Goes the Neighborhood, centers on a White family who moves into a predominately Black and newly gentrifying neighborhood in Cleveland.
The sale is the second for James’ SpringHill Entertainment under the brand’s expansive agreement it signed with Warner Bros. Entertainment in 2015, for digital, TV and film projects. In addition to the various projects the company has in progress, they will be debuting The Wall, a NBC game show and Cleveland Hustles, a reality series that will premiere on CNBC.
With these projects on the horizon, it only adds to the fact that it’s a great time for content creators to build strong teams and bring their visions to life.
Great work, Bron Bron!
