Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox is getting ready to frighten the living daylights out of us, because she has just snagged the starring role in the upcoming remake of Rocky Horror Picture Show.
She’s making history again within the transgender world as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a part portrayed by Tim Curry in the original Broadway production and 1975 movie.
The Orange is the New Black star is thrilled to be a part of the production. In an Instagram post, she stated, “I am so excited that the news is out. I am so honored to be a part of the Rocky Horror legacy. #DontDreamItBeIt#TransIsBeautiful”
The revamp of the cult classic, which follows a couple that stumbles across the mad scientist as he prepares to reveal Rocky Horror at the annual Transylvanian, will premiere next fall.
