Kylie Jenner Denies Blackface Claims
Some fans are up in arms about new photos posted on Kylie Jenner’s Instagram account, accusing the Kardashian sister of donning blackface.
In her initial post on Saturday of images from a new photo shoot, the 17-year-old posted the controversial photo with the caption, “Making MAGiC w/KYLizzle. PEEPS BE GETTING TURNT UP ON THIS SKIN SITCH. BLACK LIGHTS & NEON. Does no body know about lighting ??” She added, “What I wish I looked like all the time thank you.”
Social media critics quickly noticed Jenner’s darker skin color in the photo, which was soon deleted. Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman showed support for Jenner’s look, but the outcry changed her mind. “At first, I saw more of an avatar look but thank y’all for keeping me on point…we all gotta stay aware of what image we project #lessons,” she Tweeted.
Jenner shared two different images from the shoot in response to the accusations. “This is black light and neon lights people lets all calm down,” she wrote on one of the photo’s caption.
What do you think? Did Kylie don Blackface? Or are folks just tripping?
