Kendrick Lamar Sued Over Artwork

Kendrick Lamar has run into some legal trouble surrounding the artwork for the record “The Blacker the Berry.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, photographer Giordano Cipriani has sued the rapper, Top Dawg Entertainment and Interscope Records for using a photo he snapped of a mother breastfeeding as the track’s featured image without permission or payment.

The song was released in February as the second single for the lyricist’s sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly

In the lawsuit, lawyers state, “Cipriani is entitled to damages and Defendants’ profits attributable to the infringement, as well as an accounting of those profits, in an amount to be determined at trial.”

Neither K dot nor the record labels have commented yet.
