Kendrick Lamar Responds to Obama Compliment

As if leading the pack with the most Grammy nominations wasn’t enough, Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much A Dollar Cost” has been dubbed President Barack Obama’s favorite song.

The rapper got word of the news Thursday and was honored by the compliment. As he was leaving the airport, he told TMZ, “Man, that’s great.”

When asked about the message behind the To Pimp A Butterfly tune, he told the reporter that it’s best to “help as many people as you can if you want to live forever.”

Well said, K dot.

Wondering which record Michelle Obama, a.k.a. MC FLOTUS, chose as her top jam for 2015? It’s Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”

“That’s a good one,” Lamar said.
