Kanye West Announces Adidas Deal

Another rapper, another fashion collaboration.

During a radio interview on the Angie Martinez Show, Kanye West “unofficially officially” announced an upcoming collaboration with Adidas. This news comes only a week after his Watch the Throne compadre Jay Z launched his holiday collection at Barneys New York, despite racial profiling allegations against the department store.

As you may recall, the Chicago rapper has already dabbled into the sneaker scene with Air Yeezy, courtesy of Nike. But the new all-red versions of Air Yeezy IIs (nicknamed “Red Octobers”) does not have a scheduled release date and West is claiming he’s not making royalties. Hmm…More about his brand beefs in this invigorating interview with Charlemagne Tha God below.

No word yet on what kind of merchandise Yeezy’s partnership with Adidas will include, but one thing that’s certain is West expects it to be huge:

“I am going to be the Tupac of product… I’ma be the first hip-hop designer, and because of that… I’ma be bigger than Walmart.”

Oh, is that right? Stay tuned to see what the self-proclaimed creative genius has in mind and watch his interview below:
