Kandi’s Wedding Recap: Season Finale

Todd was so upset with Kandi about the prenup that he sped off  before the rehearsal dinner began in last week’s episode. Well, things picked up right where they left off in the season finale.

As the couple continued to quarrel about the details of the agreement, specifically the part that said Todd must move out within 30 days if the marriage fails, the guests at the rehearsal dinner made their own speculations about why Todd was a no-show.

When Kandi told Mama Joyce what was going on, she seemed more happy than sad that the pair was arguing the night before the big day (side eye). But after talking it out with his boys, Todd realized he didn’t want anything to stand in the way of him marrying the love of his life, so he snuck inside the bride-to-be’s hotel room while she was sleeping to reconcile.

Once the agreement was altered a bit, the attorneys, who came with cameras for extra proof, met Todd the day of wedding and he finally signed his name of the dotted line.

If you thought the prenuptial agreement was the last of the drama, you’re sadly mistaken. The wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses arrived late, which put everything behind schedule.

If that wasn’t enough to stress about, Mama Joyce was acting up yet again. While Kandi’s daughter Riley and Todd’s daughter Kaela were both in the room dressing, Mama Joyce felt the need to point out that Riley was extra special while downplaying Kaela’s new role in the family.

Although Kaela didn’t say anything, the hurt was spread all across her face, and Kandi confronted her mother about the comments. Of course, that led to an argument, but Riley, fed up with the all the drama, tearfully interjected and asked for peace.

With the ceremony set for 7 p.m., Kandi told guests to arrive at 5 p.m. to avoid the Atlanta’s dreaded traffic. Well, the guests were on time, and Kandi was still in the car headed to the venue at 7:18 p.m. in her fabulous pre-wedding gown getup.  Yikes! Let’s hope the guests didn’t come hungry.

The wedding began (finally!) with a song from Q Parker of 112 followed by the “Queen To Be” tune by Mad Scientist, which coincided perfectly with the Coming to America theme. The African dancers then pranced and leaped across the floor, before dramatically revealing the bride.

A choked up Todd watched his lady glide down the aisle while Musiq Soulchild serenaded on the piano in the background. The couple said their “I do’s” as Kandi’s father officiated, and Riley and Kaela were even a part of the ceremony. They received rings, too. Beautiful!

Everyone was waiting on Mama Joyce to object, but she sat in her seat quietly throughout the program. She did, however, ruin the wedding photos not cracking even the slightest of smiles when posing beside Mr. and Mrs. Tucker. It took all the power of God to force her to make a NICE speech during the toasts.

Nonetheless, the reception was slamming! It was like a big party. With a live band and performances from Bell Biv Devoe, everyone was having a blast. It was a star-studded event. Atlanta housewives Porsha, Phaedra and Cynthia were in attendance. Tamar Braxton and hubby Vince Hubbard, Big Tigger, Fantasia, Rasheeda from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta and many more came out to celebrate the two love birds as well.

The wedding was stunning, and everything ultimately came together incredibly in the end.

Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Todd Tucker! *glasses clink*
