John Legend Is ‘Disappointed’ Kanye Met With Trump
Looks like we weren’t the only ones confused–and a little miffed–Kanye West met with Donald Trump. Apparently, West’s longtime friend and collaborator John Legend also wasn’t too pleased his G.O.O.D. music homie sat down with the president-elect.
In an interview with France’s Clique TV, Legend, who campaigned for Hillary Clinton, said while he doesn’t think “it’s impossible to talk to [Trump] about issues,” but the singer said he “won’t be used as a publicity stunt.” And according to John Legend, that’s exactly what happened to Kanye.
“I think Kanye was a publicity stunt, and I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump.” Legend continued, “Trump has been been corrosive to the country. I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.”
After meeting with Trump, Kanye said he spoke with the president-elect about “multicultural issues” like bullying and modernizing school curriculums. He also tweeted a picture of a signed copy of Time Magazine from Trump that called Kanye “a great friend.”
Et tu Yeezy?
