Jill Scott Lands Role in ‘Baggage Claim’

Jill Scott will star in the upcoming romantic comedy Baggage Claim, according to Paula Patton (Idlewild, Precious) and Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher, Sparkle) also star in the film directed by David E. Talbert (First Sunday).

Scott will play the “blunt best friend and co-worker” to Paula Patton’s character, who is on the quest to find a man before her sister’s wedding. Scott most recently appeared in Lifetime’s TV version of Steel Magnolias and previously Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married and its sequel.

Baggage Claim is set to begin production this fall and has a tentative release date of next year.
