Looking for a fun movie for the kids? This adventurous, animated film, in theaters Friday, may be right up your alley. After Sherman has a tough first day of school with a classmate, the adoption agency gives him and his adopted father, Mr. Peabody (the smartest dog in the world) a strict warning. The agency will reclaim Sherman if any more incidents occur at the academy. To alleviate the issue, Mr. Peabody invites his son’s “frenemy” to dinner. But when Sherman tampers with the time machine, he creates an even bigger problem.

The Oscar-winning film may be hitting theaters once again, but it definitely has hit the shelves. Directed by London native Steve McQueen, this film tells the story of Solomon Northup, a born-free New Yorker kidnapped in 1841 and sold into slavery. As he struggles to adjust to his new life, a chance at freedom presents itself. Based on the autobiography of the same title, this powerful movie presents the heartrending horrors of slavery in a way not captured before. Check out our exclusive chat with the star of the film, Chiwetel Ejiofor.
