A DAY OF JERUSA

This film narrates the encounter between Jerusa (Lea Garcia), a resident of an old townhouse of Bixiga, and the young Silvia, played by Deborah Marcal. Silvia circulates through the traditional São Paulo neighborhood conducting opinion research on soap in powder, but her story transforms into observations of everyday life. If you missed out on this coming-of-age drama, you’re in luck, because it’s on DVD! Set in Inglewood, CA., the Rick Famuyiwa-directed film follows the life of Malcom (Shameik Moore) and his friends as he unexpectedly and unknowingly enters the dope game. With appearances by A$AP Rocky, Chanel Iman and  Zoë Kravitz, the list of producers includes some heavy hitters, too.
