Jelly! Laura Harrier to Star as Michael B. Jordan’s Wife in HBO’s ‘Fahrenheit 451’
Newcomer Laura Harrier is about to kill it as Peter Parker’s dream lady in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but her next role will be even more iconic.
Harrier will join Michael B[ae] Jordan in the forthcoming HBO adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s 1951 dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451. Jordan will play the lead character, Guy Montag, a fireman whose job is to burn any books in his society as well as the homes of the book owners. (Books are illegal AF in this 24th-century-set world.) Guy is pretty content with his occupation he until begins to questions everything around him.
Guy’s wife, Millie (Harrier), is a stuck-up society woman the fireman begins to hate. Instead of confronting what’s around her, she chooses to indulge in fancy gadgets as a means of escape. Michael Shannon will also star in the film as Beatty, Guy’s mentor.
Filmmaker Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes) is set to direct the film, which is currently in preproduction. Jordan will also serve as an executive producer through his company, Outlier Productions.
There is no word yet on when Fahrenheit 451 might arrive on HBO, but we would guess either 2018 or 2019.
You can see Harrier next in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which hits theaters on July 7. Jordan will be seen in Marvel’s highly-anticipated Black Panther next February.
