Jay Z ‘s Scores Another Win on the Business End

Jay Z never lied when he rapped that he is a “business…man”. Jigga is snatching up deals left and right all while letting it be known that “nothing real can be threatened.”

The entertainment mogul’s media empire just added another “win” to the scoreboard. Jay, who has also partnered with Will Smith to produce a miniseries on Emmett Till for HBO, has just signed a two-year production deal with The Weinstein Company (TWC). The partnership will enable TWC to get an exclusive first-look at film and television projects produced by Jay Z.

Tapping into the film arena isn’t a new move for Jay. He served as a producer on the modern remake of Annie starring Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis, co-produced Chris Rock’s Top Five, adding to that, he landed an executive producer tag on The Great Gasby with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Jay and Will also collaborated as co-producers on the stage production of Fela!.

As for his latest deal, Jay expressed, “I’m excited to tell stories from real life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight. Harvey and David are visionaries both of whom have done this time and time again. I’m already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to discovering others.”

We can definitely expect more to come from this multi-platform influencer.

Keep scoring Mr. Carter. Salute!
