Jaden Smith To Be Honored at EMA Awards

Jaden Smith is one who truly navigates life to the rhythm of his own drum.

The 18 year old son of Will and Jada has already impacted pop culture with his forward-thinking, eccentric ideas on style. Then when you get Jaden and baby sis Willow together, the mental consciousness is beyond measure and a true testament to what we admire about their parents.

Well, all of Jaden’s dopeness is not going without recognition. The actor/rapper will be presented with the 2016 Male EMA Futures Award for his leadership and action on environmental issues.

The Environmental Media Association (EMA) aims to inspire solutions for the environment through media and pop culture. Jaden is a part of JUST Water, an impact business venture that is changing the way bottled water is sourced, delivered and consumed.

“It’s important for everyone to know that you can make a difference no matter what obstacles you think are in your way. After seeing the amount of ocean pollution and the effect it was having on marine wildlife, I couldn’t stand there and do nothing about it – I knew I had to take action,” Jaden said in a press release sent to JET. “With the Male EMA Futures Award, our voices are being amplified and we’re making a difference. Having the support from an organization that shares the same values as me makes the future more optimistic than ever.”

The middle child of the Smith kids is being recognized in both the entertainment industry and eco community.

This year’s EMA Awards will take place on Oct. 22 in Los Angeles.
