Issa Rae’s ‘Insecure’ Comedy Lands a Home!

The Akward Black Girl is taking her funny to a major network.

Content creator, Issa Rae’s comedic pilot, Insecure has officially been picked up by the HBO network and will be a series, The Hollywood Reporter informs.

The comedy continues with Issa’s misadventures and witty charm as the story follows the friendship of two modern African American women, primarily their uncomfortable ventures and racy tribulations.

Issa takes lead as Issa Dee and her on-camera bestie is Yvonne Orji, who will play Molly.

Jay Ellis (The Game) will play Lawrence, Issa’s unemployed boyfriend who has been getting himself together for the past four years.

Boardwalk Empire’s Lisa Joyce joins the cast as Frieda, the liberal and empathetic co-worker at an educational non-profit firm.

Well, let the adventures begin!
