Issa Rae’s hit HBO series Insecure proves that sometimes life is complicated AF.
Creator and star Rae is back with a brand-new season of her “deeply relatable” series about friendship, love and living in Los Angeles. The show explores the trials and tribulations that Black millennials encounter while adulting. The cast includes Jay Ellis, Yvonne Orji, Natasha Rothwell and Amanda Seals.
In celebration of the Season Two of the hit show, which drops July 23, Rae just shared a glorious motion artwork poster on her Instagram. In the poster, Rae lounges in a pool donning a banana yellow swimsuit with the caption, “hella out there” scrawled above her.
Still, this isn’t the only way HBO is celebrating Season Two of Insecure. The network has just teamed up with TRAP Karaoke, a user-generated entertainment company that puts guests at the center of the series. Fans in Cincinnati, Charlotte and Houston will join cast members from both Insecure and the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson series Ballers for an advance double feature screening of the shows’ season premieres. They will also have the opportunity to get on stage with TRAP Karaoke’s host Low Key and DJ Austin Millz. The HBO x TRAP Karaoke tour will stop in Cincinnati on July 6 (Bogart’s), Charlotte on July 13 (The Fillmore) and wrap up in Houston on July 19 (White Oak Music Hall). Each event will also feature a locally based speed artist who will paint artwork that will be donated to a local community organization along with a financial donation from HBO.
It’s about to get hella real when Insecure returns Sunday, July 23rd at 10:30 PM ET (right after Game of Thrones and Ballers) on HBO.
