Idris Elba Gets Personal
Idris Elba may not be taking on the role of James Bond anytime soon, but the British actor is offering something even better…Him!
In a sense.
The multidimensional actor is producing an autobiographical documentary that takes the audience on a journey through his life, relationships, the loss of his father and the preparation it took when filming Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.
During an interview with MIPTV (the most-established TV and digital content market), Elba shared that Mandela, My Dad and Me was initially intended to be a movie about an album. However, upon his return from South Africa, he discovered that there was more to the story.
“It was about my emotional journey. I had just lost my father, so it became about my loss.”
