Are you ready for some more Ice Cube?

The rapper, actor, producer and director chatted with Redbull USA, and said that his forthcoming album is just about finished.

The former NWA member — he told JET magazine last year in an interview that he’s working on the NWA biopic — says in the interview “I’m pretty deep into it, I’m about 65 percent finished with it. It’ll be out next year, you know, and it’s hardcore hip hop. It’s street knowledge, it’s talking about what’s going on in the hood, but it’s talking about what’s going on in the political arena. It’s what I always try to give. Much more than just rhyming. Mostly, it’s hip hop for the soul. That’s what I’m trying to deliver.”

Cube — who also recently announced that the Friday movie will happen and with the original cast — also chatted up that much-talked about project.

He told Redbull that the screenplay for the project is almost done. In last year’s JET interview, he said he hoped to go into production this year for a 2013 release.

“The script is almost finished, I got a meeting with New Line on Monday or Tuesday, to talk about the next step,” he said. “You gotta get that script tight before you can take the next step.”

His new album, Everything’s Corrupt, hits shelves next year.//
