Ice Cube Isn’t Shedding Tears for Jerry Heller

Ice Cube is not losing any sleep over the passing of NWA’s former manager Jerry Heller.

The music executive was in a car accident last week and later died at the hospital.

The multi-talented entertainer dished his feelings about the news during a radio interview with Detroit’s Hot 107.5 station, stating:

“I didn’t have no emotions, you know. I’m just glad I’m with my brothers today. I’m glad I’m with DJ Yella. I’m glad I’m with MC Ren today, and it’s only right. So, you know, I ain’t gon’ pop no champagne, but I ain’t gon’ shed no tears either. It is what it is, you know. We come here to pass, and he’s outta here, so you know. Like I said, I’m not losing no sleep over that one.”

The cold shoulder doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the rocky relationship between Heller the members of the hardcore rap group. Much of the turmoil was displayed in the 2015 film Straight Outta Compton.

Following the release of the high-grossing movie, Heller filed a $110 million defamation lawsuit. The film depicted Heller as manic and deceitful, swindling the fellas out of money and pitting Eazy-E against the rest of the group.

As for Cube, who eventually left the group due to financial issues, it’s back to business as usual.
