Hip-Hop 101: Celebs with College Courses

Though hip-hop has always been met with heavy scrutiny, there are some artists who make you dive further into their artistic blueprint in order to decode the messaging in their music. It’s intriguing. According to USA Today, the course will juxtapose the rapper’s music with the creative and literary works of Gwendolyn Brooks, James Joyce and James Baldwin, in addition to the 1991 cult classic film Boyz n The Hood. The course is research heavy and will conclude with a major paper as a response to selected text.
