Harry Belafonte to be Honored

Legendary actor and activist Harry Belafonte will be honored next month at the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards.

During the ceremony, which is named after the former boxing champ, Belafonte will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the civil rights movement.

The 88-year-old won’t be the only one taking home a trophy. Academy Award-winning actress Geena Davis will also be among the honorees.

Additionally, the event will recognize six people under the age of 30 who represent Ali’s core principals: confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, respect and spirituality.

The ceremony will take place on Sept. 19 in Louisville, KY.
