Happy Headlines: 2 Chainz Helps Disabled Vet

Christmas came early for one Georgia family when 2 Chainz surprised them with a gift of a lifetime.

Partnering with Each One Teach One, the rapper unexpectedly visited Dierdre Plater, a disabled veteran, and her son Isaiah at their home.

But the rapper didn’t just bless the family with his presence, he also offered to pay their rent for one year and supply their empty apartment with furniture.

“I’m really overwhelmed and overjoyed that someone would do something this nice for me,” she said. “It’s been a struggle being a single parent especially of a little boy. He’s a teenager now.”

Her 14-year-old son, who had heart surgery at age 1, started his own waste management business this year after realizing the situation he and his mother were in. Plater hasn’t been able to work for months since undergoing a recent operation.

These two aren’t the only ones the rapper has aided. His organization, T.R.U. Foundation, has been raising money with proceeds from its dabbing Santa sweater sales.
