Ant-Man is set to return in 2018, and this time, British actress Hannah John-Kamen will be joining him.
Back in 2015, the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced us to Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, a master thief just released from prison. Trained by Dr. Hank Pym (Micahel Douglass), Lang becomes Ant-Man to prevent the diabolical Darren Cross from using his weapons for evil.
With the film’s upcoming sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, the miniature hero is about to encounter a whole new adversary. Actress Hannah John-Kamen was just added to the cast. According to Variety, the 27-year old’s character details are under wraps with the rest of the film’s narrative. However, we do know that she will be playing “a key role.” The Black Mirror actress joining the project is the first major casting news surrounding the upcoming film. Though John-Kamen comes from the TV world with projects like Game of Thrones and Killjoys under her belt, she recently just wrapped filming the Tomb Raider reboot with Alicia Vikander.
In Ant-Man and the Wasp, Paul Rudd is returning in the title role with Evangeline Lilly coming back as Hope van Dyne a.k.a. The Wasp. Michael Douglas, Michael Pena, and Tip, “T.I.” Harris are also expected to reprise their roles from the original. When we know more about what we’ll actually be seeing in the film, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Ant-Man grossed a whopping $519 million worldwide when it hit theaters two years ago so we can expect the same massive numbers from the film’s sequel.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is scheduled to be released on July 6, 2018.
