Lin-Manuel Miranda Dropped the Hamilton Mixtape
Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the wildly popular Broadway musical Hamilton, has had everyone talking about his show. The multicultural, hip-hop production about the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton is this year’s runway hit. The Obamas have seen it (and loved it), tickets are nearly impossible to get, and Miranda and his cast cleaned up at this year’s Tony Awards. Now, the folks behind the best musical of the year just released even more hits–the Hamilton Mixtape.
The Hamilton Mixtape features a host of heavy hitters, including The Roots, Usher, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Chance the Rapper, and EBONY Power 100 honorees, Nas and John Legend.
Before the release, artists from musical put together an unprecedented live show called #Ham4Ham to celebrate the project.
Fans on social media are already in love with the album, which can be heard across several streaming services, including Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music.
