Glynn Turman Cast in Ava DuVernay’s Series

Ava DuVernay and Oprah are cooking up a new drama series set to debut on the OWN Network and Emmy winner Glynn Turman has landed a guest starring role on the project.

Titled, Queen Sugar, the series chronicles the lives and loves of the estranged Bordelon siblings in Saint Joseph, Louisiana. After a family tragedy, they must work to overcome the struggles of their complex lives in order to run an ailing sugarcane farm in the Deep South.

In his guest appearance, Turman will take on the role of “Ernest Bordelon,” the proud father and patriarch of the Bordelon siblings. And he’s been keeping the fact that the farm is failing and hasn’t produced successful crop in two years from his family.

The series is based on Natalie Baszile’s Queen Sugar and will be produced by Warner Horizon Television. Oprah and Ava serve as executive producers on the project.
