Our ‘Girlfriend’ Jill Marie Jones Lands New Role

We fell in love with Jill Marie Jones when she played the bougie, hilariously honest and shallow BFF of Tracee Ellis Ross in ’90s hit, ‘Girlfriends.’

Well, that Girlfriends reunion is still up in air, but the acting diva landed a leading role in the Starz original series, “Ash vs Evil Dead.”

Jones will play the role of Amanda Fisher in the thriller which centers on Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper who sets out to find anti-super hero Ash following the murder of her partner. On her quest to prove Ash’s responsibility of the crime, she learns that Ash and his sidekicks may be mankind’s only hope against EVIL DEAD.

Gloomy and grisly. This is sure to show Jill’s range!

The STARZ series serves as a follow-up to the horror classic film franchise, The Evil Dead and will produce 10 half-hour episodes.

Ash vs. Evil Dead is set to shoot on location in New Zealand and premiere on the STARZ network in late 2015.
