Coming Soon: Gabby Douglas Oxygen Series
Gabby Douglas has been a complete wow factor since taking home the gold in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The then 16-year-old, made history as the first African American to win the USA Team and individual all-around gold medals.
Following the victory, her story was shared in the Lifetime movie, The Gabby Douglas Story which starred Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris) in 2014.
Most recently, the 20-year-old became champion in the American Cup.
Life has surely been a whirlwind and now, the gymnast is gearing up for the 2016 games and she’s inviting eyes across the world to witness the journey in her new Oxygen docu-series, #DouglasFamilyGold.
“The series provides an inside look at an inspirational family who doesn’t let obstacles stand in their way,” Rod Aissa, Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development of Oxygen Media said in a statement.
In addition, the show will shed light on the sacrifices made throughout Gabby’s career and the motivation to keep going.
#DouglasFamilyGold is set to premiere on May 25.
