Frankie Knuckles Passes Away

Chicago icon and godfather of house music Frankie Knuckles has passed away at 59.

It’s a sad day for music fans.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the “Godfather of House Music” Frankie Knuckles passed away Monday at 59.

5 magazine (the Windy City’s house magazine) broke the news Monday night and reportedly learned about the Chicago native’s untimely passing from Knuckles’ associate, Robert Williams.


In 2005, the Grammy-winning DJ and producer was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame.
