Forest Whitaker to Make Broadway Debut

Forest Whitaker is taking a break from the big screen to light up the theater stage, because he’s making his Broadway debut in Hughie.

The actor will play Ernie Smith, a hotel receptionist whose memories of his deceased co-worker Hughie lead to a bout with alcoholism.

Written by Eugene O’Neill, the show is set in 1928 and first premiered on Broadway in 1964.

Catch Whitaker in the revival when it opens next spring.
