Erykah Badu Live From Brooklyn!

It is clearly Erykah Badu season and the funkiness of Ms. Fatbelly Bella is reigning hard.

Fresh off of a killer hosting gig at the 2015 Soul Train Awards and the Black Friday drop of her mixtape But You Cain’t Use My Phone, Badu blessed fans with a live performance at the historic Kings Theater in Brooklyn, Wednesday night.

The in-person experience hit pockets for $140+, but no fan was left out as Badu live-streamed the entire set via Periscope.

Super cool move!

Being oh-so-kind, the budding social platform released a 15-minute clip of the show.

But, wait…there’s more!

The creative juices are flowing and Erykah will star in the indie film, The Land, written and directed by Steve Caple, Jr. and Lizzie Friedman.

The Land, which will make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, follows four teenage boys who dedicate their summer to escaping the streets of Cleveland to pursue professional skateboarding. However, their brotherhood gets tested and a shake-up in plans surfaces when the teens get caught in the web of a local drug kingpin.

Nas will serve as an executive producer on the dramatic film, which also stars Machine Gun Kelly, Michael K. Williams, Kim Coates, Rafi Gavron, Moises Arias, and Ezri Walker.
