Did Ellen’s Usain Bolt Tweet Cross the Line?
Daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is used to making millions of people laugh every single day. But after posting a cheeky tweet about Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, some are saying she crossed the line.
So what got Ellen in hot water? An image of the star photoshopped on Bolt’s back.

While many got a few chuckles out of the tweet, noting Bolt IS the fastest man alive, others didn’t find DeGeneres’ joke to be funny at all, particularly given America’s troubled racial history.
So, I think we can all safely say that Ellen Degeneres needs some serious race sensitivity training.

Honestly seeing Black folks defend that Ellen photo of Usain is depressing. "she was just saying he is fast" Oh yea? pic.twitter.com/rE1YGIPpIu

This isn’t the first time Ellen came under fire for racially insensitive tweets. During the World Cup in 2014, the comedian tweeted that she had trouble finding Ghana on a map.
After many were critical of her Olympic tweet, DeGeneres took to Twitter to explain she’s aware of the complicated racial history of America.
I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am.

So, what do you make of her tweet? Funny or offensive?
