DWTS Cast Recap: Tamar Brings Judges to Tears

Dancing with the Stars honored the contestants’ most memorable years, and some celebrities turned it into an even more unforgettable night.

Giving more reason to call her a future finalist, Tamar Braxton delivered her most emotional performance yet.

In a prerecorded segment before her dance, Braxton said her most memorable year was in 2012 when she almost lost the love of her life – her husband Vincent Herbert.

She danced to her own song “King” from her new album Calling All Lovers, which she said exemplifies the love and appreciation she has for her spouse and son.

She wowed with a flawless performance, moving across the ballroom with amazing grace. She strutted as her sassy self but surprised viewers at the end by walking into the arms of her awaiting hubby, who played the piano during the routine. Braxton showed a more vulnerable, yet beautiful side, which left the judges slightly teary-eyed and a little speechless at first.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba struggled to find her words before giving Braxton and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy praise.

“Your story touched me. Yet, what you danced touched me even more,” Inaba said. “This was such an incredible performance.”

Judge Bruno Tonioli said Braxton’s connection with her partner was wired to perfection, and he thanked the couple for doing a proper rumba from beginning to end.

The singer earned herself straight nines from the judges for a total of 27 out of 30 points.

Just as Braxton finally nailed her connection to Chmerkovskiy, DWTS announced a partner switch up for next week’s episode. Will she continue to take our breaths away?

The Real co-host wasn’t the only one to reach a new milestone. While Bindi Irwin received the first ten from the judges this season, Gary Busey was the latest star to exit the ballroom.

Tune in to see which new pro partner Braxton is matched with next Monday night on ABC at 8/7c.
