Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino’s new hit comedy, Atlanta, is acquiring some serious buzz after its series premiere on Sept. 6th.
Airing every Tuesday at 10PM EST, the show quickly became basic cable’s most watched scripted primetime comedy series premiere since 2013. Atlanta is also FX’s most-watched original comedy series premiere since 2011 with a total audience of 3 million viewers.
The witty comedy portrays the daily life of three African American men in the heart of the peachy state. Glover stars as Earn, a a Princeton drop out and now aspiring rapper. With a heavy focus on Blackness, Atlanta also brings to light the varying images of Black masculinity that some television shows choose to ignore.
In addition to Atlanta receiving great TV ratings and delivering thought-provoking content, the show is also getting lots of positive feedback and love on Twitter.
