DMX to Take on Zimmerman in Boxing Match

Former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman will take on rapper DMX in a "celebrity" boxing match.

Update: There is now a petition to stop the boxing match between DMX and George Zimmerman. As of 2 p.m. CT, it had nearly 16,000 supporters.  Our Digital Managing Editor Kyra Kyles explains why she thinks you should sign HERE.

Well, it appears as though George Zimmerman finally has an opponent.

Last week, we told you the former neighborhood watch volunteer agreed to a “celebrity” boxing match in the name of charity. Rapper The Game, who has a tattoo on his leg in honor of slain Trayvon Martin (who would have turned 19 today), said he’d like to take on Zimmerman in the ring. But it looks like he won’t get the chance.

Instead, DMX (who has had his fair share of legal troubles as well) will fight Zimmerman.

Fight promoter Damon Feldman picked DMX out of more than 15,000 email requests from people wishing to take on Zimmerman, according to CNN.

DMX has reportedly told TMZ he plans to “beat the living f**k out of him.”

No official word yet on when or where the fight will take place, but it is expected to be announced next Wednesday. Will you watch? Let us know in the comments.
