Most Hip-Hop fans know the story of DMX.
The rapper, born Earl Simmons, has struggled while living in the ‘hood and on high street due to his battle with anger management and drug addiction. Enter Iyanla Vanzant. The spiritual teacher’s new hit show, Iyanla Fix My Life, has received as much kudos for revitalizing the OWN network as it has for actively transforming lives…until DMX. The troubled star isn’t singing Vanzant’s praises. In fact, DMX reached out to JET to discuss his depiction on the much buzzed about new episode of Iyanla Fix My Life (airs 9pm ET on April 13).
In a very raw and candid interview, DMX opens up to JET magazine’s senior editor S. Tia Brown about managing his substance abuse, his stance on fidelity, his estranged relationship with his oldest son, Xavier, and why he regrets agreeing to appear on Iyanla’s Fix My Life.
