D’Angelo to Lead Bill Withers Tribute

D’Angelo is headed to Carnegie Hall to pay tribute to Bill Withers, who was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with a special concert titled “Lean On Him.”

Joined by Ledisi, Ed Sheeran and a host of other artists, the “Really Love” singer will celebrate the living legend, who will make a rare appearance at the show.

The vocalists will perform several songs from the icon’s catalog, including his 1973 album Live at Carnegie Hall.

Tickets range from as low as $48 to as high as $10,000, and all profits will benefit the Stuttering Association for the Young. It’s an organization close to Withers, who has stuttered since childhood.

This isn’t the first time he has been honored. Last month, Jhene Aiko sang his praises by sharing her rendition of “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “Lovely Day.”

“Lean On Him” will take place Oct. 1 at Carnegie Hall.
